St Piers College is a vibrant, inclusive, and distinctive residential and day college for young adults. Our primary focus is on education - supporting students to gain valuable skills that support their aspirations. We work closely with a high proportion of students who have epilepsy, autism, severe learning difficulties, and complex needs - providing a supportive environment where every individual is encouraged and equipped to thrive.

Our mission is to empower each student to reach their full potential. Our purpose is for young people “To be successful and valued members of the community”, and the curriculum is built around four key areas: Community Inclusion, Independence, Work-Based Learning, Health and Wellbeing.

We offer personalised one to three-year programmes delivered through three distinct student journeys aligned to both accredited and non-accredited courses. The programmes are designed to further personal and social development, essential functional and work-related skills.

At St Piers College, learning is vibrant, inclusive, and full of possibilities. Our diverse curriculum offers hands-on experiences led by passionate subject tutors in farm work, gardening, multi-skills, textiles, fleece to fibre, wellbeing, sport, cooking, drama, IT, and functional skills. Students also enjoy our exciting Options Day, where they explore interests like choir, creative writing, sculpture, ballroom dancing, hair and beauty, mindfulness, media studies, and the ever-popular College Bake Off.

Personal & Social Development (PSD) is delivered through a personalised and flexible approach, led by dedicated Personal Tutors who support each learner’s individual needs, health and wellbeing. Personal Tutors provide consistent, trusted support, working closely with learners and their families. They attend Annual Reviews, write detailed reports, and maintain regular communication with parents and carers to ensure a truly holistic approach for every student.

The PSD curriculum focuses on developing essential life skills through meaningful, real-life learning experiences. Areas of learning include personal safety at home and in the community, healthy lifestyles, relationships and sex education, employability skills, community participation, and building independence in everyday life.

Learners are also encouraged to explore their interests, develop environmental awareness, and build confidence, independence and self-belief as they work towards their aspirations for adulthood.
