Young Epilepsy and St Piers Welcomes New Chief Executive

Young Epilepsy and St Piers Welcomes New Chief Executive

Jane Beaven will join Young Epilepsy and St Piers in November as the new Chief Executive.

Jane brings a wealth of leadership experience from both the charity and commercial sectors, having held senior roles at Aviva, The Children’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, and most recently at The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

Speaking on her appointment, Jane shared:

I am proud and excited to be joining Young Epilepsy and St Piers. I have already seen how much expertise, passion and commitment the team brings to supporting young people, and I feel privileged to be stepping into this role alongside them. Every person I have met so far has reinforced what I already believed - that Young Epilepsy and St Piers are full of dedicated people who go above and beyond every day.

Jane joins St Piers at a transformative time for our historic St Piers campus and will lead as we move ahead with the planned development and improvements across the site.

St Piers Interim Executive Principal, Jeremy Law will continue to oversee St Piers School and College, with St Piers Head of School, Ginnie Batten-Evatt and St Piers Head of College, Frankie Baptie continuing their strong leadership.

Young Epilepsy Chair of Trustees, Markus Reutimann said ‘On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Jane who is joining our organisation at a critical moment as we aim to extend our impact and reach across all services of Young Epilepsy and St Piers.’

We would also like to thank our outgoing Chief Executive, Mark Devlin, who has led Young Epilepsy and St Piers with passion and purpose for the past seven years. His leadership has helped shape the organisation’s direction and impact, and we wish him every success in the future.

Mark reflected:

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Young Epilepsy and St Piers. There is something incredibly special about the education we offer at St Piers. I am overwhelmingly proud to have worked alongside our team, who work tirelessly to support our students and enrich their education. I want to take a moment to thank all that have been on this journey with me at St Piers, Young Epilepsy, and to the wonderful students and families that have been so much a part of the progress we have made together. Thank You.’
