We are celebrating our second outstanding Ofsted grade in 12 months. It was awarded following an inspection of the Residential Special Schools service.
Inspectors praised a number of areas including:
- Pupil outcomes – which were considered “outstanding” with pupils enjoying professional, caring, warm and positive relationships with the care team and each other.
- Pupil welfare – which was said to be “outstanding”.
- Management – which was deemed “highly effective”.
- Promotion of equality and diversity – the complex needs of pupils were “well understood” by staff.
John Cowman, Young Epilepsy’s Director of Operations, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Young Epilepsy and was a team effort involving many different staff. All of them should feel very proud.
“The outstanding grade demonstrates our commitment to the children and young people in our care. We shall continue to innovate and provide the highest standard of service we possibly can.”
This is the second time in 12 months year the charity has received high praise from Ofsted. The Jubilee residential houses were inspected in summer 2013 and were also deemed outstanding.
