Every volunteer who gives their time helps our pupils and students enjoy a richer, fuller life on campus, bringing fresh ideas, enthusiasm and energy that complement the support provided by our staff teams. Whether you're helping behind the scenes or supporting activities that bring our community together, your contribution helps create positive experiences for children and young people with complex needs.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and value the perspectives and experiences you bring. Whether you're a student looking to gain experience, a working professional keen to share your skills, a retiree looking to give back, or part of a community group wanting to make a difference, there are a variety of ways to get involved.

Ways to get involved

Community and fundraising support

Help organise fundraising activities, support community events and connect with local networks. You could assist at fundraising days, alumni activities, seasonal events or help spread the word about St Piers in your community.

Campus support

Help keep St Piers welcoming and well cared for. Opportunities may include supporting our grounds and outdoor spaces, assisting with gardening projects, helping at St Piers Farm, or contributing to projects that enhance the campus environment for pupils and students.

Events volunteering

Support our community events and activities throughout the year. From helping with event set-up and welcoming visitors to assisting with activities and logistics, event volunteers play an essential role in creating memorable experiences for our students, families and supporters.

Sharing your skills

If you have specialist skills or experience, we would love to hear from you. Volunteers may be able to support areas such as administration, photography, communications, marketing, creative activities, sport, music or other enrichment opportunities.

However much time you can give, you’ll help children and young people grow, belong and thrive. All volunteers are matched to opportunities that suit their skills, interests and availability.

What we ask

To help ensure the safety and wellbeing of our pupils and students, volunteers may be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and attend a short induction covering safeguarding, epilepsy awareness and life at St Piers. Requirements will vary depending on the role.
